CopperSmith SKU Builder The hand-fabricated copper and brass lantern company Foley, Alabama ================================================================ DOCUMENT INFO ================================================================ Canonical: https://sku.thecoppersmith.net/humans.txt Version: 1.0 Updated: 2026-05-22 Authority: Derived from CS_Master_Product_List (master sheet) Companion: https://sku.thecoppersmith.net/llms.txt (AI-readable mirror) Maintainer: JAM Group Studio for The CopperSmith Lighting Co. ================================================================ Hi. If you're reading this, you probably want to understand how a CopperSmith SKU is put together without using the live builder. This is that explanation. The live tool is at https://sku.thecoppersmith.net — use it if you can, it does all this work for you. But if you're old school or you're trying to read a SKU on a packing slip and figure out what it means, this is the formula. ================================================================ THE FORMULA ================================================================ A buildable SKU is the base SKU followed by a series of option codes, joined with hyphens, in this order: Base SKU + Finish + Mount + Companion (only if the mount needs one) + Decorative + Electric or Gas options (last) Every segment past Base SKU is optional. The default finish (Antique Copper) doesn't add a suffix — it's just absent. ================================================================ THE PIECES ================================================================ 1. PARENT SKU (e.g. AS-E) This is NOT in the final SKU. It's how products are grouped under catalog listings. If you see "AS-E" written anywhere, it means "the Adams Street Electric line." It's not a thing you can order. 2. BASE SKU (e.g. AS41E) This is where the actual orderable SKU begins. Three parts: - Family code (e.g. AS for Adams Street) - Size in inches (e.g. 41) - Ignition type (E for Electric, G for Gas) Every base SKU ships as a wall-mounted fixture with a standard backplate by default. The base SKU alone is a complete, orderable product. 3. FINISH (e.g. -BLK) Five options: (none) Antique Copper — the default, no suffix added -BLK Matte Black -GRAY Graphite Gray -BRZ Oil Rubbed Bronze -CLEAR Clear Coat (white in the UI swatch) The AOB family (Biltmore Aurora Brass) is brass only — its SKUs never get a finish suffix because the "B" already encodes brass. 4. MOUNT (e.g. -WY, -TS3, -CY05, -PF1) You pick options from ONE mount category per SKU. The categories are mutually exclusive on a single SKU: Wall Mount: Wall Yoke, Gooseneck Plain, Gooseneck Scroll, Grand Harbor 12", Grand Harbor 17", Estate Extension, the three Moustaches (Classic / Dual Scroll / Fancy) Wall Mount Accessories: Top Scroll, Top Scroll Wide, Bottom Scroll, Bottom Scroll Wide, Reverse Bottom Scroll, Farm House Hook, Bottom Farm House Hook, Moneo Top Hook Ceiling & Hanging: Classic Yoke, Pendant Yoke, Contemporary Yoke, Stem Mount, Chain Mount, Quartet Chain Mount, Heavy Chain Mount, Heavy Slope Ceiling Mount, Ladder Rest Post & Pier: Post Fitter, Grand Post Fitter, Pier Mount, Grand Pier Mount, Copper Pier Mount, Direct Burial Post Adapter, Lamp Posts (6/8/10 foot), Post Ladder Rest Important rule: standard Wall Mount Accessories (Top Scroll, Bottom Scroll, hooks, etc.) attach to the standard backplate. So they're available ONLY when no non-standard Wall Mount is selected. Pick a Gooseneck or Grand Harbor and the Wall Mount Accessories disappear, and the other way around. 5. COMPANION (e.g. -CY05 paired with -EE1) Some mount options require a partner because they don't stand alone on the fixture: Estate Extension requires a Ceiling & Hanging mount. Any ceiling option available for the selected base SKU is valid. Output: AS41E-EE1-CY05 Grand Harbor 12" requires a Post Fitter (PF) or and Grand Harbor 17" Grand Post Fitter (GPF). Output: AS41E-GH1-PF1 When you select one of these, the rest of its mount category hides and a companion picker appears with the right options. 6. DECORATIVE OPTIONS (e.g. -LTS, -BBR) Add-ons that sit on top of the chosen mount: London Top, London Bottom, Fluted Top, Solid Copper Top Panels, Fleur De Lis Finial, Braided Brass Ring, Coach House Bars You can combine London Top with London Bottom on the same SKU. See the Top + Bottom rule below. 7. ELECTRIC OR GAS SPECIFIC (goes at the END of the SKU) Electric options: Adhara Dark Sky (ADS), Turtle Friendly (TLA), Frosted Shade (HSI1), Sanded Shade (HSI2), Cylinder Hurricane Shade (CSHI) Gas options: Propane Tip (PT or SPTS), Gas Pressure Regulator (GPR), e-lyte (ELI), Auto Shutoff Valve (ASV), Wind Guard (WGS or WGL) ================================================================ THE TOP + BOTTOM RULE ================================================================ In Wall Mount Accessories and Decorative Options, accessories are classified as "top" or "bottom." One top can combine with one bottom on a single SKU. Two tops, or two bottoms, fork into separate SKUs. Tops in Wall Mount Accessories: Top Scroll, Top Scroll Wide, Farm House Hook, Moneo Top Hook Bottoms in Wall Mount Accessories: Bottom Scroll, Bottom Scroll Wide, Reverse Bottom Scroll, Bottom Farm House Hook Tops in Decorative Options: London Top, Fluted Top, Solid Copper Top Panels Bottoms in Decorative Options: London Bottom Examples: Top Scroll + Bottom Scroll = AS41E-TS3-BS1 (one SKU) Top Scroll + Top Scroll Wide = AS41E-TS3 AND AS41E-TSW3 (two SKUs) Farm House Hook + BFH = AS41E-FH3-BFH2 (FH counts as a top) London Top + London Bottom = AS41E-LTS-LBS (one SKU) ================================================================ WORKED EXAMPLES ================================================================ AS41E Adams Street, 41 inches, Electric. Base unit, antique copper, standard backplate. Wall mounted. Complete product. AS41E-BLK Same as above but matte black finish. AS41G-BLK-TS3 Adams Street 41" Gas, matte black, with a Top Scroll (size TS3). AS43G-BLK-TS11 Same product line, larger size (43"), Gas. With Top Scroll — notice the code is TS11, not TS3, because accessory codes differ per base SKU. AS41E-EE1-CY05 Adams Street 41" Electric with Estate Extension wall mount paired with Classic Yoke as the required ceiling companion. AS41E-GH1-PF1 Adams Street 41" Electric with Grand Harbor 12" wall mount paired with Post Fitter as the required post-fitter companion. AS41G-BLK-TS3-LTS-ASV Adams Street 41" Gas, matte black, Top Scroll, London Top, Auto Shutoff Valve. Note the gas option (ASV) comes last. AH22E-BMSM Biltmore Antler Hill 22" Electric with Biltmore Stem Mount. Biltmore lines use BM-prefixed hardware (BMTS, BMCM, BMPF, BMPM, BMY, BMCHM, BMSM, BMCPM) instead of the standard codes. AOB28E Biltmore Aurora Brass 28" Electric. No finish suffix because AOB is brass-only. ================================================================ THINGS THAT CONFUSE PEOPLE ================================================================ * The accessory CODES are different across sizes within the same family. A Top Scroll on AS41 is TS3, on AS43 is TS11. There's no universal "Top Scroll = TS" — the code depends on the base SKU you're attaching it to. * The PARENT SKU never appears in the buildable SKU. If you see AS-E-AS41E somewhere, that's wrong. It's just AS41E. * Biltmore products use different mount hardware from the standard collections. You can't put a regular Wall Yoke on a Biltmore fixture. Biltmore lines have BMTS, BMCM, BMPF, BMPM, BMY, BMCHM, BMSM, BMCPM. The Biltmore Stem Mount code is BMSM (not BSSM). * Wall Mount and Wall Mount Accessories are MUTUALLY EXCLUSIVE. Pick a Gooseneck and you lose access to the Top Scroll. Pick a Top Scroll and you lose access to the Gooseneck. They attach to the same place on the fixture. * Estate Extension is not a complete mount on its own. It always needs a ceiling/hanging companion appended to the SKU. * Grand Harbor 12" and Grand Harbor 17" are not complete mounts on their own. They always need a Post Fitter or Grand Post Fitter appended to the SKU. * The AOB family is the only brass-only Biltmore line. AO (without the B) is the copper Aurora, and it takes finishes like everything else. * Gas SKUs don't show the ELECTRIC accessory panel, and Electric SKUs don't show the GAS panel. The master sheet has some compliance features (Adhara Dark Sky, Turtle Friendly, shade variants) sitting under the ELECTRIC column even on gas product rows, but those don't apply to a gas fixture. The builder hides the whole opposite-ignition panel so you can't accidentally append them. ================================================================ WHERE THE TRUTH LIVES ================================================================ The authoritative source for every accessory code on every base SKU is CopperSmith's master product sheet (CS_Master_Product_List). Every base SKU is a row, every accessory is a column. The cell at their intersection is the exact code. If this document and the live builder ever disagree with the master sheet, the master sheet is right. ================================================================ CONTACT ================================================================ The CopperSmith Lighting Co.
